About Us

Established on November 15, 2020, with Ms. Yupaporn Wongbanwa as the president, the Thai Massage Association in Portugal is based in Lisbon. It operates as a non-profit organization with the registration number (NIPC) 517 006 553. The association receives support from the Thai Embassy, the Thai Ambassador of Lisbon, Ambassador Krongkanit Rakcharoen. This support includes the establishment, operations, and various online courses, as well as visits the members. Currently, we have a total of 17 member establishments, including Thai massage shop and Thai spa, located in the northern, central, and southern regions of Portugal.

The main objectives of the association are:

• To promote and preserve Thai massage, following the inclusion of “Nuad Thai (Thai Massage)” in UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage list on December 12, 2019 (Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage).
• To enhance the image of Thai massage businesses in Portugal, making them more recognized and popular.
• To provide various knowledge to members, such as tax management, customer service, identifying unique selling points, and marketing through social networks, among others.

What we do:

• To represent Thai massage businesses in Portugal in activities organized by both the public and private sectors, including acting as a representative for Thai massage entrepreneurs in Portugal, advocating for and providing input on regulations and laws related to the business.
• To collaboratively advertise and promote Thai massage and Thai spa services, maintain the standards of Thai massage, and develop the skills and expertise of Thai massage personnel in Portugal. Additionally, to participate in activities with the Tourism Authority of Thailand, join Thai festivals in Portugal with the Thai Embassy, and conduct the annual teacher-honoring ceremony of the association.
